The heat is here and your landscaping and flower gardens are filling in. This is the time of year to keep up on landscape maintenance and make plans for your landscape and lawn care while you are away for any upcoming vacations.

  • Remove dead and declining flowers; stake perennials as needed

  • Watch for insect damage or disease in your landscaping

  • Divide spring blooming perennials

  • Check soil moisture frequently of container plants, vegetable gardens, and newly planted landscape shrubs, trees, and perennials; water as needed

  • Make plans for someone to care of your landscaping, house plants, and lawn while you are away on any vacations you have coming up
